The tweets have been flying all morning.

In the instantaneous world of social media, many would have thought that by 8:01 a.m. an announcement would have been made.

It's past 10:30 a.m. and the reality that the actual pace of life doesn't move that fast has been realized.

The National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) completed its vote as of 8 a.m. to ratify  the new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that the NHL owners unanimously ratified earlier in the week.

With a vote ratifying the CBA coming from the NHLPA, all that is required for a new NHL season to begin is for a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed by both parties.

That is what everyone is now waiting for, and is expected to take place sometime Saturday.

Once that happens, the league will release the much anticipated playing schedule and training camps around the league will begin as early as Sunday - including in Raleigh.

The wait continues.
