In-Game notes, photos, and video:

After suffering a close 4-3 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday the Hurricanes look to continue their winning ways at home against the Washington Capitals on Monday.

Carolina boasts a 10-3-1 record over their last 14 home games and play their next six games at the RBC Center

The storyline before the puck even drops is that goaltender Cam Ward is listed as day-to-day and provides the opportunity for back-up Justin Peters to get his second start in three games.

Peters earned a big win on Friday as the Hurricanes beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2, his first in over a year.

Besides Ward, Tuomo Ruutu and Chad LaRose are still out and listed as day-to-day giving Drayson Bowman and Jerome Samson more opportunities to show what they have to help the Hurricanes get through this challenging time of the season.

Goaltender Mike Murphy backs up Peters in net and gets the chance to watch the game live in Raleigh.

Puck drops in a few minutes.
